no, not very eventful. i.e. not getting out of the house until 5 because mom thought baking the cake first would be better than going out shopping first, and by the time the cake was done, dad might as well come along. but the good cheer was there, and so was the german chocolate cake and dinner at giglio's.

*and* i got to watch hockey! i missed my actual birthtime because i was too caught up in the awesomeness of the red wings. it was probably right after their first goal. and thank you, mr. shanahan, for the lovely fights - you made my hockey-related birthday wish come true.

also, good brother award goes to andy for buying me david sedaris' 'naked' complete with autograph! it reads: "to katie, with the pleasure of meeting the enchantind dr. zimolzak," followed by the signature. enchantind? enchanting and enchanted, i guess. i think he must have been looking ahead to the weird last name while *possibly* trying to hit on my brother. anyway, glee!
